Allegri: Juventus struggled initially without Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is no doubt a world-class player that will be missed by any team he leaves. Such was the case with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and now Juventus. The Old Lady manager, Max Allegri, couldn’t just deny the fact that his side struggled as things were difficult for them at the beginning of the season without the five-time world footballer of the year.

Ronaldo has reunited with Manchester United and seems to be out of form. But his quality had won some games for the Old Trafford club this season.

Speaking ahead of the Coppa Italia final between his team and current Scudetto holder, Inter Milan, Allegri pointed out that nobody will remember his best games in charge of the Old Lady against Inter and Manchester United.

The final will be held at the Stadio Olimpico tonight.

The coach pointed out that seeing Ronaldo leave with only three days remaining in the summer transfer window wasn’t easy. Added to this was an injury to Federico Chiesa.

But Juventus got back on their feet after signing Dusan Vlahovic in January.

The coach further said he expects a nice game and noted that Inter are a tough team. He believes that with patience, they can beat Simeone Inzaghi’s men.

While noting that football is strange, Allegri said an early goal will change everything as his lads need a good performance in trying to win the trophy.

Ahead of the game, the coach admitted that he has some doubts about his starting eleven. He added that a decision will soon be made on that.

Allegri, who confirmed that skipper Giorgio Chiellini, Mattia Perin, and Paulo Dybala are available for selection, said others will be assessed.

He further revealed that Fabio Miretti and Nicolussi Caviglia, who travelled with the team, have recovered from a cruciate ligament injury. He added that after watching them in action with the U23 squad the other day, he brought them along as a reward for their hard work.

Juventus have never been trophyless in their last ten seasons. Allegri won’t want to be the first Bianconeri coach since Luigi Delneri to end the season empty-handed.

He is also excited that they secured Champions League football for next season, which according to him, is crucial.

What now lies ahead of them is to improve things and be ready to start again next season.

They are now going to face an Inter side that ended their winning run last month.

Meanwhile, Allegri will become the most winning coach in the competition’s history if he wins the title tonight.
