“We have an unmatched competitive spirit,” Warriors talisman Stephen Curry says after they complete a comeback win over Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans as they cameback from 20 points down to win 120-109. The comeback win was possible because of their talisman, Stephen Curry. He scored the game-high 39 points in 37 ,minutes along with eight boards and as many assists on the night.

Curry was oozing with confidence as he felt that no other team understands pressure and performance in big games like the Warriors. He feels that the league is unmatched with them when it comes down to challenge and pressure clashes. The fact that they have overturned restilts in the past, they have developed a sense of belief that they can turn things around in no time.

He shared that the Warriors have not had the best season but he understands that it is that time of the year when the players know that they need to turn up. “We know what time of the season it is. We’ve faced a lot of adversity all year, and even in this first half, it was like, nothing going your way, had some self-inflicted wounds,” he said after the win over the Pelicans.

Curry admits that fellow teammate Draymond Green’s fire and their unmatch belief in themselves helps them in churning out positive results in these tough situations.

“The one thing that we have, you know, Draymond’s fire in the first half is the ultimate testament and visual to what it is that we have a competitive spirit that’s unmatched.”

A few days ago Warriors coach Steve Kerr described the situation nothing short of the playoffs because iof you lose a game then you will be at an disadvantage. The play-ins have made the league very challenging for the players.

At this point the Warriors have a 40-37 record and are placed in sixth spot in the Western Conference. Hence each game they lose at this stage of the season will only pile up pressure on them.

But Curry believes that the team has done it in the past and will do it again if required. The Warriors won the NBA Championship last season from a situation when it looked like they have handed it over to the Celtics, they simply turned it around and won their seventh NBA Championship.

The Warriors are easily the best dynasty in the NBA in this era and that’s what Curry reiterates that they have been in this pressure game for a decade and know how to handle things

“It’s been that way for a decade, and for us to tap into that.. That belief and that killer instinct, three guys standing on this court, myself, Draymond and Klay, we’ve done it,” Curry added.

The Warriors will play the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, April 1. Steve Kerr’s men will look to continue their winning streak as they aim to finish higher in the standings.
