That kind of flowing ability, that kind of balance, gives him such a huge advantage – Lindsay Davenport on Novak Djokovic’s agility

Former World No.1 Lindsay Davenport has showered praise on Novak Djokovic and has revealed why the Serbian is a force to reckon with on the court. Djokovic is known for his court coverage and he has always remained at the top of fitness.

The veteran has always had a great balance and he is known for his agility. Djokovic can change directions in a jiffy, which always keeps in the contest of the long rallies. The 35-year-old is a livewire and he has the right technique, which has helped him reap rewards.

The three-time Grand Slam champion Davenport added Djokovic is ready for the Australian Open after winning Adelaide International 1.

Lindsay Davenport said, “He is obviously ready to go in January. There’s no doubt he knows what he has to do, he’s ready to play. He’s obviously so comfortable moving on the hard courts. For maybe some of us that didn’t move so well, it’s so hard to watch him because he makes it look so easy, right? In and out of the corners, changing directions, keeping so centered, the balance.”

“He is really one of the first tennis players to come along that is flexible like a gymnast. He is quick like a sprinter. Keeps his balance and changes direction with ease. That kind of flowing ability, that kind of balance, gives him such a huge advantage against everybody else,” the 46-year-old said.

There is no doubt that Novak Djokovic will enter the Australian Open as one of the red-hot favorites. Djokovic is well known as the King of Melbourne as he has won the Australian Open on nine occasions. The Serbian will be hungry to go all the way after he wasn’t allowed to take part in the previous edition due to his deportation saga.

The Australia Open will begin on 16 January.
