If you do not have the humility to listen to the things that you do not like so much, it is difficult for you to continue on the right path – Rafael Nadal

It is a well-known fact that Rafael Nadal is very close to his team. Nadal’s team is like family to him and he gives them all the freedom to share their opinions. The Spaniard has had a glorious career and he has always credited his success to his supporting team.

Nadal said if you do not have the humility to listen to the things that you do not like so much, it is difficult for you to continue on the right path. Nadal is known to keep himself on the ground despite all the stardom he has and always likes to live a simple life.

The veteran has received such learnings from his close-knit family and he always tries to make the most of it.

Rafael Nadal said while talking to Eurosport, “In team sports you have a coach who is the club,” said Nadal. “Hire a coach and the player is paid too. But the coach is the boss. In our sport, I am the one who pays the coach, the physical trainer, the physical therapist. In the end, you are the boss.”

Nadal believes it is imperative for a player to make his team comfortable around him so that they can serve him best.

“If you don’t make all those people around you feel they have the freedom to say things, whether they are good or bad, without putting your job at risk, you are not allowing yourself to be helped. If you do not have the humility to listen to the things that you do not like so much, it is difficult for you to continue on the right path,” Nadal said.

Meanwhile, Nadal has been playing at the top of his game in the going season. The Spaniard won the Australian Open earlier in the year and then went on to win his 14th title at Roland-Garros. Nadal reached the semifinal of Wimbledon but he had to pull out of the Championship after he suffered a muscle tear in his abdomen.

On Monday, Nadal was seen doing light training, which are great signs for his return.
