Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu wants to play her best tennis after coming back on the court

    January 4, 2022

Canadian youngster Bianca Andreescu won the US Open in 2019 and it was the biggest highlight of her career till now. But when people thought that the youngster will dominate the women’s tennis circuit Andreescu struggled to maintain that level of consistency. She then had to deal with a knee injury that kept him out of action for more than a year.

The 21-year-old now feels that she will be appreciative of the fact if she gets back on the court soon. In a recent interview with Australian Open TV, Andreescu reminisced the past two years of her personal life. Those couple of years were very difficult for the young Canadian.

Andreescu feels that getting to play tennis again will be enough for her at the moment. “At this point, I have to be grateful just for being back on the court since October 2019,” Andreescu said. “It was a tough period, not only for me but for everyone.”

The youngster wants to return back on the court and play her best tennis. She does not want to care about results at the moment. “I just want to go out there, play my best tennis, trust my capabilities and the training that I’ve had,” Andreescu said. “Hopefully I can do big things.”

The 2019 US Open champion highlighted how to she took time out to reflect on herself. Andreescu feels that the break was necessary for her to get back to her best.

“Outside of everything else, I did take time for myself to reflect on myself as a person and the whole world,” Andreescu said. “The best athletes, they’re able to take it more as a challenge than a setback. I try to have that mindset too.”

The 21-year-old has already announced that she won’t be featuring in the upcoming Australian Open. She wants to get back to her best in terms of physical and mental health.

Andreescu tried returning to action in 2021 but she was nowhere near her natural best. The Canadian youngster bowed out in the first round in the Wimbledon and Roland Garros. She could only win a single game at the Australian Open. She reached the fourth round of the US Open last year.
