Lewis Defeats Oleinik With Record TKO At UFC Vegas 6

    August 10, 2020

Last Saturday night, Derrick Lewis set a record in the MMA with his 21 second Knockout in the second round. It was a very short fight, but Lewis had managed to write his name in gold by having the most wins by TKO in the history of UFC heavyweight, as last night made it his 11th. The fight held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, without fans or spectators present.

Lewis came into the fight with a lot of talk, and it felt good to see him turn those words into action. He began the fight with a kick that secured his first takedown. He then went on to land punches on his opponent, wanting to wear him down, but the Russian was relentless and turned this around with his own takedown and a scarf hold submission.

Lewis was quick to get up but was soon down again, and this time, Oleinik kept forcing him into submission, but the Black Beast was not going to give up that easy and resisted until the round ended.

After the quick break, Lewis was determined to end things fast enough, but even he could not have predicted how fast. He gave Oleinik a right hand, which sent him to the ground. Lewis then got on top of him and continued to punch freely. His punches continued until he was stopped by the referee, who then ended the match and declared him the winner.

Lewis had promised us a quick finish before going into the match, pegging it at 3 rounds, but his Saturday night’s victory was even better. This is his 3rd straight win, and his 15th win since joining the UFC. After the match, he revealed that he would be taking time off fighting to focus on losing weight, predicting his return time to be around December. Lewis currently weighs 260 pounds and hopes to lose 15 or 20 pounds before stepping into the Octagon again.
