F1 Car Launch Dates

The 2022 Formula 1 season is less than two months away and teams have revealed the dates they are expected to launch their new cars. With the introduction of new F1 regulations this year, we can expect to see some noticeable changes in the cars. Unlike last year when the key difference was the livery and some other very little changes, this year, there would be big upgrades in the car, some of which include: new 18-inch wheels, from 13-inch wheels, improved aerodynamics, heavier chassis (to make the cars safer), and more. This is why we are patiently anticipating when teams would launch their cars, to see how well they have done with this new framework.

The first car to launch is Aston Martin. On February 10, they would be launching the AMR22, the car that would drive them to victory this season. After finishing seventh last season, it is expected that they would perform better with the new car.

Right after that, we have McLaren launching the MCL36 on February 11. The team came fourth last season, just behind Ferrari.

AlphaTauri has chosen the day of love to launch their new car. The AT03, which would be unveiled on February 14, makes use of Red Bull Powertrains for the first time. This is coming after AlphaTauri ended its relationship with Honda at the end of last season.

Ferrari would launch their new car on February 17. No official name yet and the car simply goes by the code 674. Team boss, Mattia Binotto has hinted that the car features a big improvement and lots of innovation.

2021 runner-up, Mercedes, has fixed February 18 as the date of their launch. The team won their record eighth constructor’s championship title last season, and are hoping to win it once again this year, with the W13, as they hope to take full advantage of the new regulations.

Alpine would launch their new car, the A522 on February 21. With a fifth-place finish at last year’s constructor’s championship, Alpine is hoping to finish stronger this season with the improvements that would follow their car.

So far, these are the teams that have revealed their launch dates. The remaining teams that have not yet announced are Haas, Williams, Alfa Romeo, and 2021 world champion, Red Bull.
