UEFA Nations League: 38,000 fans set to watch Italy vs. England clash

UEFA Nations League: 38,000 fans set to watch Italy vs. England clash – Football

38,000 match tickets have been sold for the upcoming Nations League clash between Italy and England.

This is not a sold-out ticket for a match that is important to the Euro 2020 finalists.

Italy currently trains at Coverciano ahead of the international game.

They are hoping to avoid suffering relegation from League A Group 3. The Azzurri is third in the group with five points. They are one point below Germany, two below Hungary, and three above the Three Lions.

TMW revealed that only 38,000 tickets have currently been sold for the game. The number is expected to increase soon as the match approaches.

Meanwhile, it won’t be a surprise if the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will not be full for the game. It could be reflecting the concerns regarding the Azzurri following their failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The low sales of tickets could also be traced to many fans’ complaints about Roberto Mancini’s call-ups. The Italy coach had intended to stick to old favourites, only for injuries that made him invite some younger options like Davide Frattesi and Sebastiano Esposito.

It is hoped that around 50,000 tickets will be sold in total, and an updated number is expected tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Ciro Immobile is one of them. The striker is not as prolific with Italy as he is with Lazio.

Speaking at a press conference, the striker who was expected to retire from international football when the Azzurri failed to qualify for the World Cup in March considered all that happened and understood that the others could not determine his future with the national team.

Noting that the next World Cup is far, Immobile said he has a lot to give.

“The next World Cup is far away, but if I continue to be fit, I am sure I have more to offer. I’ve received strong criticism, and I was very disappointed.

“I think Mancini has never had doubts about my future, I spoke about it with my family, and I decided to continue,” he continued.
