Tottenham Confirm Skipp To Stay On Loan At Norwich Until End Of Season

    January 13, 2021

Championship side Norwich City will have the opportunity to keep Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp for the rest of the season.

Oliver Skipp, 20, is on loan from the North London Premier League side and he has made 23 appearances for Daniel Farke’s side this season in the championship.

He has been integral in the Canaries run to the top of the table as they seek a return the top flight. Skipp has been with the Spurs all his career, and the switch to the Carrow Road is his first move away from White Hart Lane.

However, despite impressing at Norwich, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that there is no plan to recall the player from the loan deal.

The Portuguese manager stated his happiness at the player’s development at the Carrow road and that the loan deal has been a success.

“The players are very important. The future is very important; the best thing for him is to finish the season there—very successful loan for us and also for Norwich. We’re very happy that he’s playing and he’s playing well. He’s playing to win and to win titles, so he has that pressure on him too. He’s playing two or three matches a week, so there’s also physical development. Next season he’s back, but we believe that for this season we think it’s best for him to stay at Norwich and he’s also very happy with that.” Mourinho said.

Skipp’s contract with Spurs will run till 2024 and having made his debut for Spurs in 2019; he is regarded as a great prospect by the club’s hierarchy.

Norwich City are top of the Championship table with 47 points from 23 games played, four points above Swansea City in second place and they travel to Cardiff City on Saturday.
