They accept losing a bit more, he will definitely enjoy it – Gareth Bale on Lionel Messi’s upcoming stint with Inter Miami

Former Wales skipper Gareth Bale feels Lionel Messi will definitely enjoy his upcoming stint with Inter Miami in Major League Soccer. Bale, who has the experience of playing for Los Angeles FC in the MLS, believes there is not much pressure of winning all the time in the league as compared to LA Liga.

Bale earlier played for Real Madrid while Messi had a glorious career with Barcelona. After spending almost 15 years at the Catalan club, Messi made a move to Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent two years.

Messi also admitted that he wants to stay away from the limelight and one feels there will be less pressure in MLS to prove his mettle.

Bale shared his experience of playing at Real Madrid and compared the same of playing in MLS.

Gareth Bale said on BT Sport, “It is a lot more chilled (in MLS). If you lose at Real Madrid, it is like the world has ended. You are crucified. You feel down. You go home and you’re not happy. They accept losing a bit more (in America). There is no consequence. You can’t get relegated over there.”

He added: “When you lose a game you go on to the next one. They accept losing a lot better over there. They know how to lose but they celebrate every win like you have won the championship. He will definitely enjoy it.”

On the other hand, Inter Miami are struggling in MLS as they are rock bottom in 15th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The team has managed only five wins in 17 matches and they will need to turn the tables.

Former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero also revealed his conversation with Lionel Messi and the latter added his aim will be to help his team qualify for the playoffs.

The retired footballer told ESPN: “I spoke to Messi yesterday, I sent him a message with a screenshot of the Eastern Conference standings and I said: ‘Your team is behind! You have to move up to 8th/9th!’ Messi cracked up. He said, ‘We have to make the playoffs!'”

Intern Miami will have to finish in at least ninth position in order to qualify for the playoffs.
