Scott Brown speaks on Frimpong performances after win

    November 24, 2019

Celtic full-back Jeremie Frimpong looks the real deal as the Hoops dispatched Livingston in a 4-0 win. The 18- year old defender displayed an excellent performance, which earned him the man of the match award.

The lad had come through the ranks and grown into the most excellent full-backs you will ever see. He is blessed with such a blistering pace, his defensive abilities are top-notch, and his end product, most importantly, has so much quality. Club Captain Scott Brown revealed that what’s lacking in the talented defender is his shooting.

When Frimpong and Brown [ Scott ] spoke via the club’s YouTube channel after the game, Brown showered the young lad with praises and also poked a little fun at him [Frimpong] by saying he was “pathetic” when he aims at goal. He also further revealed that the young Dutchman is brilliant and can develop into the most excellent full-back in the world. He’s got everything else needed for that position, and that’s incredible but needs to shoot when he had the chance.

When quizzed about how well Frimpong has performed, he said, ” the level of energy he brings is amazing, his pace going up and down the flanks is wonderful as well. And his composure at that age is something that has impressed me a lot”.

Frimpong turned towards Brown with amazement and disbelief written all over his face, began to laugh as his skipper [ Brown ] poked fun toward him.

Scott Brown, who is a Celtic legend, and a very talented no-nonsense defender in midfield ran proceedings as they thrashed Livingston 4-0. Goals from Odsonne Edouard, Scott Brown, and a brace from James Forrest completed the win on Saturday.
Celtic returns to action on Thursday night as they host Rennes in the Europa League.

Celtic are fancied at 1.59 to win Rennes, while Rennes are pegged at 5.5 to claim an away win.
