Scott Brown Discusses His Future with Celtic

    May 21, 2020

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown was interviewed by BT Sport recently and he revealed for how long he expects to keep playing with the team.

Brown has been with Scottish giants since the summer of 2007 when he came over from Hibernian for a transfer fee that The Guardian reported to be worth £4.4 million.

At 34 years old, Brown is still a significant contributor for Celtic. He has been vital of their success over the years and is their current captain, still going strong being his age.

A former Scotland international midfielder, Brown said in the interview with BT Sport that he feels so well that he can play for Celtic on a highly-competitive level for three more years.

This is what Brown said on BT Sport when asked about his future with the popular Scottish team: “Two, three seasons, I think. I feel as fit as I have done for the last three, four years probably throughout my career.

I am looking after myself a lot better. That’s on and off the field, which is probably best for everybody to be perfectly honest.”

According to WhoScored.com, Scott Brown played 29 games for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season and scored two goals.

The veteran midfielder also has one assist in seven UEFA Europa League games. He also scored two teams in three Scottish League Cup ties. He also found the net one time in two Scottish Cup games this season.

Former teammate Gary Caldwell revealed his admiration for what Scott Brown has achieved.

“When I look at Scott now, as the leader of this Celtic team and the centre of everything at the club, it’s hard to believe it’s that same kid I met at Hibs.

Even when he first came to Celtic, he had a difficult first couple of years.

He obviously he had a family issue, with his sister passing away, which was so tragic.

That really affected him but he’s done amazingly well to come back from that and to grow as a person and as a footballer. He’s gone on to become a Celtic legend.”
