Head of the Senegalese FA, Saee Seck, believes Liverpool forward Sadio Mane should leave Merseyside this summer and join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Mane has been a standout player for Liverpool since arriving from Southampton in June 2016 and his performances last season were of particular note as he scored 22 Premier League goals, his best tally in a single campaign.
The 27-year-old was named in the PFA Team of the Year while he was also included in the Champions League squad of the season after playing an instrumental role in Liverpool’s European triumph.
Reports have linked the forward with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and it is claimed Madrid, who have already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea, are interested in acquiring his services.
Mane is currently on international duty with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations and he will be looking to add to his three tournament goals when his side take on Tunisia in the semi-finals on Sunday (Senegal 2.10, Draw 3.10, Tunisia 3.80 – Match Betting).
As the major event nears its conclusion, the chief of the Senegal FA has urged Mane to end his stay at Anfield and make the switch to Spain. As quoted by the Mirror, he said: “Everybody in the world knows that Mane is in the top ten best footballers in the world and he has achieved significant success at Liverpool in the past season.
“He alongside Mo Salah and Firmino are phenomenal. But this is football and he won the Champions League last season and he has the chance to go to Madrid.
“For me I think it’s the best club in the world, even if I am a Barcelona fan I still think Real is the best and Mane should be thinking of that offer seriously.”
