Ruben Neves Abandons Barcelona Move for Saudi Arabian Adventure

In a surprising turn of events, Ruben Neves, who has been the subject of persistent links to Barcelona in recent months, seems to be veering towards a different destination – Saudi Arabia.

According to multiple reports, Wolves have reached an agreement to offload the midfielder to Al Hilal for a staggering sum of £47 million.

Neves had openly expressed his admiration for Barcelona, igniting speculation about a potential move to the Catalan giants. However, it appears that he has now relinquished his aspirations of donning the famous Blaugrana jersey and opted for a venture in the Middle East instead.

Throughout the past season, the rumor mill churned out various theories surrounding Neves and Barcelona. It was widely believed that Joan Laporta held a strong interest in acquiring the services of the talented midfielder. However, Xavi, the newly appointed Barcelona manager, reportedly preferred the signing of Martin Zubimendi instead.

Another intriguing rumor suggested that super-agent Jorge Mendes was eager to orchestrate a swap deal involving Neves and Barcelona’s rising star Ansu Fati. Nevertheless, Fati demonstrated little enthusiasm for a move to Molineux, swiftly putting an end to that particular speculation.

It is anticipated that Neves will finalize his transfer to Al Hilal in the coming week, once he concludes his international duties with the Portuguese national team. The move to Saudi Arabia marks an unexpected twist in Neves’ career trajectory, departing from the anticipated path to Barcelona and embarking on a new adventure in the vibrant Middle Eastern football landscape.
