Pep Guardiola pegs Sergio Aguero’s return to after international break

    November 3, 2020

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that striker Sergio Aguero could return immediately after the international break.

The Argentine suffered a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw against West Ham in October which made him miss the team’s last two matches.

Aguero had previously been injured for four months after suffering a knee problem but Guardiola says he will not rush back the forward for the epic clash with Liverpool on Sunday in the English Premier League.

“I feel sure after the international break he will be better, He’s getting better but I don’t know. We don’t want him to have a setback but he’s getting better.” Guardiola said.

Manchester City will face Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus is fit enough to play in the game after he returned to training recently.

Aguero’s fellow striker Gabriel Jesus has returned to training before Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Olympiacos.

City has six points from two wins against Porto and Marseille to top Group C. The Etihad stadium side also got a win in the Premier League at the weekend beating Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane.

The Citizens despite the win are in an unfamiliar zone on the Premier League table sitting tenth on the log with 11 points from 6 games.

They are five points away from the table-topping Liverpool.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Fulham got their first win of the season having beat fellow struggling side West Brom 2-0 at the Craven Cottage.

Two goals in the space of four minutes were enough for the promoted side to get a much-needed victory.

Jamaican midfielder Bobby Reid and Nigerian defender Ola Aina in the 26 and 30th minutes respectively lifted the side to safety in 17th, just a point above Sheffield United.
