Pavard not interested in PSG despite Mbappe’s renewal

    May 27, 2022

Despite PSG star Kylian Mbappé signing a new deal with the club, Bayern Munich’s right-back Benjamin Pavard has said he is not interested in joining him as he remains happy with the Bavarian club.

Now that Mbappe has signed a three-year extension, it was gathered that PSG wants to build a new project with him and, in particular, a few more French players.

Tht is why the Paris team has been linked with Aurélien Tchouameni and Ousmane Dembélé.

Speaking with RMC, Pavard reacted to the question about a possible transfer to Paris by saying he is not interested in being a PSG player, at least for now.

While noting that Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world, Pavard said PSG is a very good club with a very good project, but he feels good at the Allianz Arena.

Since he has two years left on his current deal, Pavard could be the next player to leave the club if the management didn’t quickly sit down to discuss a further extension with him and his agent.

Although he wonders where he will end his career, Pavard is hoping to be with Bayern for a long time, noting that he is enjoying The Bundesliga.

Not knowing what the future holds, Pavard, who didn’t win a title in France while he was there, said he wants to achieve that if the opportunity arises.

This means the right-back is open to anything, and a move to the top club could be on the card soon.

Meanwhile, the Mbape renewal controversy continues as Ligue 1 chief Vincent Labrune slammed his La Liga counterpart, Javier Tebas, over the comment made on the development.

After signing a new three-year contract with the club, Tebas described the deal as an insult to football, adding that La Liga is set to complain over PSG’s alleged financial irregularities.

Labrune described such a statement as “disrespectful smears.” He then urged Tebas to treat players in Ligue 1 and across Europe with respect.
