Arsenal’s Spanish defender, Pablo Mari, has stated his desire to secure a permanent move to the Emirates stadium and gain the confidence of the team manager and fans of the club.
The Copa Libertadores winner with Brazilian club Flamengo last year also lifted the Brazilian league joined Arsenal on loan in the January transfer window with an option to buy when the loan deal ends.
While the player had been in the English Premier League before with Manchester City, he had never had a single appearance, and he subsequently left for short stints at NAC Breda, Girona, and Deportivo La Corina all on loan.
He then joined Flamengo in the summer of 2019 and has since spoken of his admiration of the football culture in the South American country describing the first six months as special.
However, after featuring against Liverpool in the FIFA club world cup final in December, he moved to Arsenal the next month and would only make his English Premier League debut against West Ham in Arsenal’s last game before the lockdown.
After helping the Gunners to a clean sheet, he believes his style can suit Arsenal, and he can learn a lot, which can help him secure a permanent deal.
“We played well. I have a lot of things to learn, but I think my football can be really good with the Arsenal, I hope the club and I can go at the end (of the season) with good things to do the permanent transfer.”Mari was quoted on Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, the Spaniard has nothing but praise for the team’s manager, Mikel Arteta stating he is happy to work with him, and the coach has helped him, especially in the weak areas of his games.
Mari claims he hopes to lift the English Premier League trophy with Gunners as well as play in the UEFA Champions League while not forgetting that he would love to be a part of the Spanish National team.
