Norwich City’s Timm Klose Loaned to Basel in Switzerland

    October 8, 2020

Norwich City has loaned Swiss defender Timm Klose to the Swiss Super League side, Basel, for the rest of the season.

The loan deal includes a possible permanent move for the 32-year-old at the end of the loan deal.

Klose played only seven times for the Canaries last season as Daniel Farke’s side got relegated back to the Championship. This season he has only featured once in the Carabao Cup and hasn’t played in the Championship.

The club side stated on its website that a permanent deal might happen, albeit with an undisclosed fee.

“As part of the agreement, FC Basel will have the option of making the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee,” Norwich stated on its website.

Klose joined Norwich City in January 2016 from German side Wolfsburg in a deal worth £9.9million, making 128 appearances for the team in that period scoring ten goals in all competitions.

The defender started his career with Swiss side Thun in the 2011-12 season before moving to Germany, where he played for Nurnberg and Wolfsburg.

For the Swiss national team, he has 17 appearances and had his youth career with Basel, Old boys before moving to Thun, where he made his senior professional team debut.

Norwich City has had an indifferent start to the season, winning one and losing twice, including one draw to have just four points from four games as they sit 17th on the log.

Their next game will be after the international break on the 17th of October at Rotherham.

Meanwhile, Max Aarons played all 90 minutes as the England U21s drew 3-3 against Andorra in the qualifying for the 2021 U21 Euros.

The result ended the young Lion’s 100% record in the U21s although they could win the group and qualify for the U21s Europe at the Molineux Stadium next Tuesday against Turkey.
