Norwich City Narrowly Lose To Liverpool

Sadio Mane’s 78th-minute strike was what broke Norwich City’s hearts in an English Premier League match played at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City has had a mixed run of form recently having won 2, lost 1, and drew the other in their last four games played in all competitions.

Nevertheless, The Canaries still sits at the bottom of the log with just 18 points from 26 games after losing Saturday by 1 goal to nil.

The game started slowly for the Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are still unbeaten in the EPL as they struggled to break down Daniel Farke ‘s defensive set up in the first half.

Liverpool dominated the first half effortlessly with the team, only failing to score due to the efforts of Tim Krul in goal for the Canaries and the wastefulness of the red’s forwards.

Liverpool 9 shots in the first half with just 1 on target, 5 off target and 3 blocked by the Norwich City defense that had Max Aarons, Christoph Zimmerman, Grant Hanley and Samuel Byram.

The second half started the same way the first ended as the visitors did run rampage on the Canaries defence piling up 8 shots with 5 on target.

With Norwich City becoming hopeful of getting a point or a shock result against the only unbeaten side in the EPL this season, Sadio Mane scored with 12 minutes left on the clock

The goal was subjected to a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) check for an infringement in the build-up to the goal, but it eventually stood.

The result means that Liverpool now has a 25-point gap above Manchester City who has a game in hand on Sunday. With 12 games left, Liverpool cannot Mathematically fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
