The EFL and the government have been in discussions to carry out a pilot plan that allows fans to attend stadiums in limited numbers.

Several Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Brighton have been among the first to join this pilot scheme and whose stadiums are already approved to host matches with a limited number of fans.

Norwich City has recently joined the initiative and will be one of three Championship clubs to have permission to be part of the pilot plan.

The Norwich City vs. Preston North End match was the fixture where 1,000 fans attended Carrow Road. Club’s season ticket holders were able to apply for up to six tickets for the fixture.

The tickets were assigned through a random raffle, and those who applied to this drawing will not be able to participate in future raffles until all season ticket holders have had the opportunity to attend a game.

Those who attended the match had to accept and comply with the authorities’ protocol of conduct to ensure health safety on Carrow Road.

The EFL will hold several test matches during September and October. Depending on the results, the measure of allowing a limited number of fans to enter the stadium may be established for a long time, since until there is a cure for COVID- 19 it is highly unlikely that the stadiums will be able to function at full capacity.
