Nagelsmann lambastes Juventus over De Ligt’s fitness issues

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has taken a swipe at Juventus after new signing Matthijs de Ligt said he had his hardest training session in four years.

The 22-year-old defender, who joined the Bianconeri in 2019 from Ajax before making the €67m plus €10m add-ons transfer to Munich this summer, made some irritating comments that have irritated the Juve players and fans since his move.

The coach Nagelsemann revealed that having spoken to him after training, the Netherlands said the session was his hardest in four years. While noting that it was hard, he said it was normal for Dr. Broich,

Speaking with reporters, Nagelsmann noted he didn’t play so many minutes last season, and he had heard in Italy that it’s then not easy to stay fit in the country.

De Ligt played 42 competitive games for Juventus jersey, scoring three goals and creating one assist.

This is more or less the first time that the Juventus training staff have been criticised as the club have many players on treatment tables over the last few years, despite the changing tacticians.

The Netherlands international made a scoring debut at Bayern Munich with a goal in the 6-2 friendly win over DC United. He also risked an own goal, picked up a yellow card, and went off with a slight injury.

Meanwhile, Juve manager Max Allegri has told Bianconerri that he only wants Alvaro Morata to complete his strike force.

He has therefore demanded new talks with Atletico Madrid to make the deal possible.

Morata has been on the priority of Allegri, having had two different stints in the Bianconeri jersey.

After a two-season spell from 2014-16 at the Allianz Stadium, Real Madrid activated their buy-back clause on the 29-year-old Spaniard. He then returned on a two-season loan from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for €20m.

Having refused to activate the option to buy for €35m, Juventus is hoping to negotiate a massive discount, but talks have so far hit a brick wall.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Allegri warned Juventus chiefs that nobody can balance the squad better than Morata, so they need to break the bank for him.

Atletico Madrid wants over €20m for him. Juve could spread out the cost by making it another loan with an obligation to buy.
