Mohamed Salah on Liverpool’s Premier League Woes: “It has been a tough season for all of us”

    March 24, 2021

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes that their position in the Premier League will get better in the coming days. The defending champions were in great form in the first half of the season and looked all set to defend their title once again.

However, injury blows to some of their key players derailed their campaign completely and they now find themselves at the seventh spot in the Premier League table, with nine more games to go in the season.

The Reds are still in with a chance of gaining Champions League glory, though.

“It’s tough for all of us because of the situation we have been through and our position in the Premier League, but I believe it’s going to be better. In the Champions League we are doing good,” Salah told Liverpool’s official website.

“I don’t want to just talk about my season because we play as a team, so I’d say it’s a tough season for all of us and we just need to carry on and try to win games,” he added.

Salah was adjudged the Liverpool’s Men’s Played of the Month for February. He won the title for the third consecutive month as he edged out Curtis Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the fan-poll. The Egyptian started in all of Liverpool’s six fixtures in the month and scored thrice, which helped him in taking his overall tally to 24 goals.

“I just want to say thank you very much for voting for me. We’re going to give our 100 per cent to win the next few games and hopefully, we can do that and do good also in the Champions League,” he said.

Liverpool are currently five points behind Chelsea, who are currently placed fourth in the Premier League table. That means, with nine more games to go, they have a very realistic chance of finishing the season inside the top four.
