Mbappe set to return for PSG against RB Leipzig

    November 2, 2021

Paris Saint-Germain star player, Kylian Mbappé has returned to full fitness after being out of action with illness.

The young lad is therefore available for selection against Bundesliga side, Leipzig in the Champions League clash on Wednesday.

According to RMC Sport, Mbappé recovered from an ENT infection contracted last week.

Ahead of his return, the world cup winner trained on Sunday. This makes his availability for the midweek game no longer being a doubt for the club.

However, Lionel Messi, who was taken off at half-time during the 2-1 win over Lille due to a muscle issue remains a doubt. Although PSG manager, Mauricio Pochettino had said the decision to substitute him was a mere precaution. Lionel Messi could miss out on PSG’s match against RB Leipzig due to muscle injury.

Ahead of the Champions League clash, the Paris squad have already left for Germany after the day’s training session.

PSG will be looking to maintain their lead at the top of their group over Manchester City. They are currently topping the table with 7 points. With Manchester City just a bit behind them, PSG wants to quickly qualify for the next round of the tournament.

The French Ligue 1 club tops their group Ligue 1 with 31 points from 13 games. They are followed by Nice with 23 points while Marseille holds on to the third spot.  Lens completed their top four.

Meanwhile, Messi has given his verdict of the French Ligue 1. The Argentine who arrives at Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona is having an entirely new experience.

He noted that the league is more physical than La Liga and the games are often divided, where there is a lot of back and forth. He further noted that the players are strong and fast.
