Mané will not be able to participate in the World Cup

No other honor compares to representing one’s country in the World Cup. It is a chance to prove to the world that your country is the best at football. It is an opportunity to make your country proud and bring home the coveted trophy.

For any player, being able to represent their country in the World Cup is the highest honor. But unfortunately, Sadio Mane will not be able to fulfill his desire to participate in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Senegalese team doctor announced this just three days before the start of the World Cup in the emirate. Mané, as Bayern explained at the time, suffered an injury to the head of his right fibula. A series of tests were conducted to see if he could play a game on the group stage, but it would force him to undergo surgery.

The exact time the striker will be off the pitch is still unknown.

The medical department of the Senegalese team did everything possible so that Mané did not miss the World Cup.

But due to the type of injury, it was concluded that it is better not to take unnecessary risks that could affect the player’s career.

“It is clear that Senegal would like him to play. In the end, there is a medical diagnosis. If it hurts and he can’t play, he won’t, even if the federation wants him to”, were the words of coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Manuel Afonso, head of the Senegalese team’s medical department, said: “Sadio underwent an MRI today which, unfortunately, revealed that his recovery is not going as well as we had imagined. Unfortunately, we have to announce that Sadio is out of the World Cup. He is due to be scheduled for surgery very soon.”
