Jonjoe Kenny Looking Forward To England Call Up

    November 14, 2019

Schalke 04 defender on loan from Everton Jonjoe Kenny, has sent an indication to Gareth Southgate on his international career allegiance after revealing he would love to play for the Three Lions very soon.

The full-back has shown tremendous quality in Germany, where he is on loan till the end of the season with Bundesliga Campaigners, Schalke.

The 22-year old has been an ever-present in the team, and his performances saw him named as Rookie of the Month in August and another nomination in the month of September.

Should he be handed a call-up to the English National team, he would face a big competition in the mold of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the 22-year old believes there is stiff competition as quality wing-backs are scattered across England.

However, he stated that he is dedicated to keep on improving at Schalke as he continues to be hopeful of a call up as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Schalke has shown interest in making a permanent move for Kenny, and his experience may be vital should he decide to return to the Merseyside at the end of the season.

He would follow in the footsteps of Ademola Lookman, he stays at Schalke, as one of the English born players who from a loan move to Germany then remained permanent at the Bundesliga club.

Nevertheless, he understands the task ahead as a young player if he is to break into the three Lions having seen the likes of Ademola Lookman and Tom Davies both of who are Everton product still yet to get a call up to the national team despite impressive displays last season.

England will face Bulgaria on Thursday in the Euro 2020 Qualifiers in the UK, the last meeting between both sides ended in a 6-0 win for the Three Lions in Sofia amidst several Racist activities against England players.

Also, the camp of the English men is not settled as there was a bust-up between Manchester City striker, Raheem Sterling, and Liverpool defender Joe Gomez. A win for England will secure their qualification on Thursday
