Gareth Bale returns to training for Wales

    November 13, 2019

Real Madrid and Welsh forward Gareth Bale has returned to training ahead of the team’s crunchy Euro Qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The Welshman suffered a calf injury, and he’s been out for over four weeks. His last appearance for the national team was in their 1-1 draw against Croatia last month. He has since then begun his rehabilitation to be fit ahead of crucial games for both Club and Country. Bale has now joined the rest of the squad ahead of Saturday’s fixture away at Azerbaijan.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs has been trying to prepare his team ahead of the trip, and they need to win their remaining fixtures. Bale was instrumental in their draw against Croatia; he scored the equalizer after Nikola Vlasic has put the Croats 1-0 up early. But the Wales skipper struck before halftime to draw them level.

That result means Wales will have to win their match against Azerbaijan and Hungary before Qualifying for the Euro 2020 tournament. But they will have to make sure Slovakia does not win these last two matches against Croatia and Azerbaijan.

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be available together with Manchester United winger Daniel James, Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor and Bristol City defender Ashley Williams are all due to link up after they played for their respective clubs over the weekend.

Ryan Giggs is also hoping to call up Newport County star Josh Sheehan after a series of excellent performances for his club this season. Another player called up is Tom King, who has linked up with the squad too. The shot-stopper has been training and has impressed manager Giggs. The team is in high spirits as they look forward to their talismanic skipper Bale to put up an excellent performance to qualify the team for the forthcoming tournament.

Wales are pegged at 1.45 to defeat Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan are set at 8.26 to claim a shock win.
