Daniel Farke tipped to hand Norwich youngster his chance

    July 3, 2019

Norwich boss Daniel Farke is keen to take a closer look at young forward Adam Idah during pre-season.
The Canaries will stick with Teemu Pukki as their first choice striker for the Premier League 2019/20 campaign but he has already been in action for Finland during the summer.

As such, he won’t feature too heavily in the upcoming pre-season clashes with German pair Arminia Bielefeld and Schalke. Idah has linked up with the first team for pre-season and the 18-year-old, who has yet to make a senior appearance for the Canaries, is set to be handed a chance to impress during the tour of Germany, according to reports.

Farke wants to figure out whether or not Idah is ready to be a part of his plans for next season, before deciding if Norwich need to make a move for another attacker.

The Canaries have already added to their strike force during the summer window with the capture of Josip Drmic on a free transfer after his deal with Borussia Monchengladbach came to an end, while winger Patrick Roberts has been signed on loan from Manchester City.

Nelson Oliveira, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Reading, is expected to depart amid claims Greek outfit AEK Athens have made a move for the Portugal international. Norwich open the new season with a trip to last season’s runners-up Liverpool and are 17.00 to claim all three points.

Liverpool are 3.50 to win the Premier League outright and Norwich are 101.00 to finish in the top six.
