Conor Hazard completes emergency loan move to Dundee

    October 25, 2019

The Northern Ireland and Celtic shot-stopper has completed an emergency loan move to Dundee and signed a short term deal to fill in for the injured Jack Hamilton.

The championship side took swift action by signing the 23 -year old Goalkeeper from Celtic to avert a goalkeeping dilemma. The Club was forced to make a move after Hamilton suffered from the appendix. He had to undergo surgery to remove it. Currently, there are only two youngsters Callum Ferrie and Harrison Sharp as the only available options in goal. But these youngsters are inexperienced and not ready for a high-level match.

Conor Hazard will quickly be installed as the new goalie in the squad as they travel to prepare and face Ayr United. The on-loan Celtic Goalkeeper has previously had spells with fellow championship side Falkirk and Patrick Thistle in the past two seasons.

Dundee manager James McPake said, “the injury to Hamilton is very frustrating and annoying he has been a fantastic player and a big figure in the dressing room for us this season.”

He continued, ” We quickly took because drastic action by replacing him with Hazard, and I’m delighted that he decided to help us out and fill in for Hamilton. Conor is a player who has played in this league over the past two seasons and also has bags of experience at the international level. I hope his expertise and experience will help us a lot.”

Dundee hopes to bounce back from their disappointing 3-1 home loss to Patrick Thistle last week as they travel to Ayr United. They are placed fifth on the log with 12 points from nine matches played so far. They will look to take charge towards returning to Scottish top-flight football.

Dundee are available at 3.08 to win the game, while Ayr United are fancied at 2.18. A likely draw is set at 3.37
