Chelsea’s interim manager Bruno Saltor delighted to have N’Golo Kante back from injury ahead of the Liverpool clash

Chelsea are looking to get all the help that they can ahead of the Liverpool clash as their main man in midfield N’Golo Kante. The French midfielder has been suffering from recurring injury problems since August.

He has been on the sidelines for a long time and his return with surely boost their morale against Liverpool. Even Chelsea interim Bruno Saltor was very relieved to see Kante back on the pitch. He understands the importance of the Frenchman being available ahead of such an important clash. “We know how important he is. Really happy to [be able to] put him on the pitch,” Saltor said.

After Graham Potter’s dismissal, the club has decided to go with Bruno Saltor as the interim manager until they find a suitable replacement. Saltor understands the situation and his requirement in it and wants to carry out his responsibility with due diligence.

“It is not my decision, it is the club’s decision and the club has asked me to step up and be professional and that is what I am doing. I feel good, it is my duty and it is a duty of responsibility. I am in a really important club and I am going to try my best,” Saltor shared.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion defender highlighted that Chelsea’s main concern, for now, is to focus on the Liverpool game and somehow get back to winning ways. However, the club is still surrounded by the news of Potter’s sacking and the potential successors who will take his place in the upcoming days.

“All of us, we know the situation here and it is what it is and we need to focus on this game, on Liverpool, and thinking about the past and what has happened before is not going to help me now. The job of the players is to perform well and play their best in every single training session and every single game, Today they are going to try their best and that is what we are expecting,” the Spanish interim manager concluded.

Chelsea are in the 11th spot in the Premier League and their chances of playing European football look bleak. The Blues are currently eleven points away from fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and only a late surge may help them get close to the top four.

However, they are also in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals and will play Real Madrid for a place in the last four
