    Carrasco, Joao Felix on target in Atletico Madrid’s victory over Betis

    Atletico Madrid ended a three-match winless run on Sunday evening when they defeated Real Betis 3-0.

    Atletico Madrid last victory was a 2-0 win against Barcelona at the start of the month but has since lost 3-2 to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League before two different 2-2 draws against Real Sociedad and Levante in the La Liga.

    Diego Someone’s side needed a victory in order to catch up with all the teams in the top six of the table including Real Betis

    Yannick Carrasco opened the scoring for the home side in 26th minute of the first half before Mario Hermoso had a goal ruled out by the VAR for offside five minutes after the break.

    An own goal doubled the advantage in the 50th minute before Joao Felix scored a third with ten minutes of the game left.

    Atletico Madrid and now in fourth position with 22 points from 11 games played two points behind Real Madrid and suvidha in second and third respectively.

    Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior was on target twice on Saturday afternoon as Real Madrid beat Elche 2-0.

    The win helps the Los Blancos remain in touching distance of first-placed Real Sociedad.

    Real Madrid are in second position with 24 points from 11 games.

    Meanwhile, Real Sociedad remain at the top of the table after their result on Sunday evening after facing Atletico Bilbao.

    Despite sacking Ronald Koeman during the week, Barcelona failed to get all three points against Alaves on Saturday evening.

    The Catalonia side played out a 1-1 draw with at the Camp Nou with Memphis Depay on target.

    Unfortunately, Barcelona will have to do without Sergio Aguero who was substituted from the game after suspected heart problems.

    Barcelona remain in ninth position with 16 points from 11 games.
