    Bundesliga giants chasing Thomas Meunier

    March 7, 2020

Bundesliga heavyweights, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are on the radar of PSG right-back Thomas Meunier.

The 28-year old will be available on a free by the end of the season with both german sides looking to fill their vacant right-back positions in the defence.

Both Dortmund and Bayern have held discussions with the player’s representatives before Dortmund’s first leg game against PSG in the Champions League round of 16 clashes back in February.

However, Dortmund’s current right-back Achraf Hakimi who is on loan from Spanish giants, Real Madrid is due to return to his parent club by the time his two-year loan deal comes into expiration at the end of the current campaign.

Bayern Munich on the other hand, desire and need a natural right-back who will be the first choice after Joshua Kimmich has been moved to shore up the midfield and Benjamin Pavard more comfortable at the centre of the defence.

Thomas Meunier is now free to entertain discussions from other clubs as his contract is coming to an end gradually, but he has refused to make any decisions about his next move.

Since his arrival from Club Brugge in Belgium, the PSG and Belgium international has made over 120 appearances as he calls it goodbye on his time in the French Ligue 1.

The right-back who has also been previously linked with the premier league sides like Arsenal and Manchester United was quizzed about his contract situation at the end of the January transfer window revealed that nothing much has changed as the management are busy with other players. “When the time is right, we will sit and discuss my future.” He said.
