Brighton manager urges team to do better

    October 18, 2022

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi urged the Seagulls to end their two-game losing streak and demanded better finishing from the players.

Brighton lost to Brentford and Tottenham in their last two games without scoring, thus dropping out of the European places on the table.

The Italian replaced Graham Potter, who left for Chelsea last month. Still, he is yet to taste victory with a draw and two losses in his first three games despite starting positively with a 3-3 draw at Anfield against Liverpool.

He will now hope to build on a solid home record, with Brighton losing just once in their last eight PL outings at the AMEX Stadium, keeping four clean sheets in the process, which could prove pivotal for a side that’s struggling to score!

The visit of the PL’s basement dwellers should inspire further confidence, given Nottingham Forest has only picked up three wins in their last dozen away clashes against Brighton.

On top of that, you’d have to go back over 23 years for the Tricky Trees’ last PL win on the road.

Elsewhere, Palace will need to shift through the gears to put Wolverhampton Wanderers under pressure. The Eagles ought to be more comfortable here despite an indifferent home PL record this term.

Wolves are still managerless after former Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui turned down the chance to head to Molineux, while an emotional return for Nuno Espírito Santo appears unlikely.

Encouragingly though, Saturday’s 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest – a game in which Wolves scored and then saved a penalty – lifted them out of the relegation.

Meanwhile, Arsenal remains at the top of the Premier League table with four points ahead of Manchester City after the Gunners defeated Leeds United 1-0 on Sunday afternoon, while Pep Guardiola’s side was beaten by Liverpool with the same scoreline.
