Barcelona Informs Manchester United on Ansu Fati transfer decision

    June 9, 2020

Irrespective of Manchester United’s £89m bid for 17-year-old Ansu Fati, Barcelona has informed the Red Devils that the wunderkind is not for sale.

According to the Camp Nou side, the 17-year-old has a bigger future at the Spanish club after breaking into the main team this season.

Ansu Fati was previously at Sevilla’s Youth team before he joined Barcelona 8 years ago. His first main team debut came in August this year, impressing in his couple of appearances with four La Liga goals as well as a goal in the UEFA Champions League.

His goal against Osasuna in August made him Barcelona’s youngest goalscorer ever while he also became the UEFA Champions League youngest scorer in history after scoring in a win against Inter Milan.

Manchester United were reported to have made inquiries and wished to pay £89m for his services, but the Catalunya club will only sell if the transfer fee is in the region of £150m.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also said to be interested in Borussia Dortmund’s winger Jadon Sancho and Birmingham’s 16-year-old wunderkind Jude Bellingham.

Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side also secured the extension of the loan deal of Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo, from Shanghai Shenhua till January 2021.

The Nigerian has had a big impact at the Old Trafford since joining in January.

The English Premier League will be back on June 17 with outstanding matches before the remaining rounds of games are completed.

In the latest round of coronavirus testing, no positive test was recorded in over 1,100 people tested, and teams played intra-team friendlies in an empty stadium at the weekend.

Meanwhile, in Spain, La Liga will resume on June 11 with the Seville Derby between Sevilla and Real Betis.
