Arteta expects tough game at Kenilworth Road

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that his team will be expecting a tough game against a very good team at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday when they travel to face Luton Town.

The Gunners, who are top of the Premier League table, two points ahead of Liverpool and three ahead of defending champions Manchester City, are facing Luton Town for the first time since 1991.

It’s a reflection of the duration between the last fixture of both sides, as none of Arsenal’s players who started the 2-1 win against Wolves at the weekend, had not been born the last time Luton Town faced Arsenal.

The Hatters have had a tough return to the top flight and have only managed to stay outside the drop zone with 9 points, only two points away from Everton, who have been hammered with points deductions.

Despite being heavy favourites and table toppers, Arteta still believes Tuesday’s hosts are a good team.

“I think they are a really good team, and probably the table does not reflect what they have done in many games. The way they have lost games or drew games as well in five minutes during the final stages of games. As I say, it probably doesn’t reflect that, but it’s a difficult game, that’s for sure. I would say it is an inspiring place. I think what they’ve done is remarkable with what Rob did with the team last year, the way they did it, and what they transmitted as a team.” Arteta said.

The Spanish manager also explained that the players know what to expect as they have been warned by the technical crew, especially about the atmosphere and the access.

A victory for Arsenal at Kenilworth Road could take them to 5 points ahead of Liverpool and 6 ahead of Manchester City pending the time that both teams will play their respective games on Wednesday.
