    Arsenal’s Marinelli suffers knee injury

    June 24, 2020

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed Arsenal’s injury woes as Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli sustained a knee injury in training and has now been confirmed to be out for months.

According to the club, more tests will be carried out to ascertain the level of damage sustained on the cartilage in his left knee.

The injury occurred on Sunday, while Arteta revealed this on Tuesday evening during a press conference.

“We had some really bad news against yesterday [Monday]. In training in the last action, [Martinelli] got hit by another player. He’s damaged his knee, the doctors are assessing the extent of the injury, but it’s not looking good at all.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal will settle for short term deals with Cedric Soares, Dani Ceballos, David Luiz, and Pablo Mari in the next few hours if the words of the coach are anything to go by.

“It is very complicated, the timing of it and some of the legal issues that are involved with that, the club is trying to finalize everything in the next few hours. We have no choice, we have to do it – and even more with the injuries we’ve had.” Arteta was quoted

Meanwhile, in the English Premier League on Tuesday night, Tottenham Hotspur beat west ham 2-0 as an own goal, and a late strike from Harry Kane saw them win the match.

In the other game earlier on Tuesday, Kasper Schmeichel was the hero for Leicester City as they drew 0-0 with Brighton at home.

Matches continue on Wednesday as teams go head-to-head in the English Premier League games, Manchester United host Sheffield United, Newcastle would welcome Aston Villa, Norwich would host Everton, Wolves v Bournemouth and Liverpool against Crystal Palace.
