Arsenal completes double signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber

    July 6, 2023

The deal for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to join Arsenal is in place between Arsenal & West Ham, and the Gunners will make an official announcement of their top target soon. A fee of £100m plus £5m add-ons will make the move the most expensive signing ever for Arsenal and Rice, the most expensive English player ever.

After initially rejecting the first two offers from Arsenal, West Ham United then agreed to the deal after their expectations were met and a suitable payment plan was proposed by Arsenal.

Meanwhile, after Declan Rice, Arsenal also completed Jurrien Timber’s deal as expected after they made an agreement to pay on €40m deal plus €5m add-ons to Ajax.

Timber will sign until June 2028 after playing 34 Eredivisie games; six UEFA Champions League matches, and four cup games.

Furthermore, Arsenal made a third act on Wednesday after Reiss Nelson has signed a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium. The forward put pen to paper for a four-year contract with an option for a further season. This puts any foreign interest in Nelson to rest as he rejected bids from Italy, France, and PL to stay at the club.

Arsenal now needs at least three signings this summer as they hope to improve and close the gap between themselves and who leapfrogged them to win the Premier League title last season.

The Gunners have brought in Kai Havertz from Chelsea, with the 24-year-old signing a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium. It is a big boost for the Gunners, who will make their first appearance in the UEFA Champions League next season after seven years.

They are also set to see Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka exit the club for a move to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, and there’s also a possibility that striker Folarin Balogun will also leave the club if the 50 million pounds Price tag placed on him is met.
