Alex Tettey Seeks Attacking Stability in Norwich

Norwich City midfielder, Alex Tettey, has disclosed that he hopes too much priority on effective defending will not hamper the team’s attacking threat when the Canaries face Red Devils, Manchester United in the English Premier League this weekend at Carrow road.

The Norwegian only made a comeback to the Canaries lineup against Bournemouth last weekend, when Norwich city recorded their very first away points and clean sheet away from home at the Vitality Stadium, after been injured alongside goalkeeper Tim Krul and his return saw him move into the defence after Ben Godfrey’s injury, playing a role as Norwich City recorded a clean sheet, their first of the season .

The result at Bournemouth indicates a big improvement from a 5-1 thrashing at home to Aston Villa before the international break, and Tettey was instrumental in the impressive result away from home.

According to the Midfielder, the draw at Bournemouth has given a different perspective to the team’s attacking style of play, having conceded nine times in just three games. He insisted that while there is a need for solidity at the back, the team won’t stop passing the ball.

Meanwhile, with Teemu Pukki’s drought in front of goal, which has coincided with a period when the Canaries have only scored once in four games, Daniel Farke will hope he strikes a balance between attack and defence against the Red Devil’s on Sunday.

Tettey believes having a twist to the style of play may help start a process of playing out from the back while still keeping the team’s philosophy the same and explained he would do his own part of dropping to help the defence as the full-backs move up the pitch in order to push back the opponents.

“it is the same thing; it’s just a twist of doing the same things, but the difference is being solid when we lose and don’t have the ball, knowing how to react, and that’s what we are trying to get into our game,” he said.

The 33-year-old showed vital experience as he slotted into the defence as Ben Godfrey was substituted early into the second half of the game against Bournemouth due to injury.

Norwich City are available at 4.38 to steal a decisive win over Man United, while Manchester United are pegged at 1.82.
