11th Globe Soccer Awards: Ronaldo, Messi among nominees

The 11th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards will be held in the stunning Madinat Jumeirah Resort Dubai December 29, 2019.

This year’s edition will be recognising female athletes for the first time and their teams.
Young prospects who trained hard to become the future Best Players in the world.

The occasion will showcase once again the importance of Dubai as the Middle Eastern Capital of the global football industry as awards will be presented in 15 different categories, celebrating the performances of key figures on and off the pitch.

Those who would be rewarded also included Middle Eastern Players, Female Players, Coaches, Referees, Club Owners, Agents, Sporting Directors, and young talents in world football.

The nominees were selected by a jury of international football coaches, directors, and chairmen who would also determine the winners.

The international jury includes former world footballer of the year, Fabio Capello, Juventus coach, Antonio Conte, former Barcelona players, Eric Abidal and Luis Figo.

Also to be present at the venue for the event include Wales coach, Ryan Giggs, Juventus midfielder, Miralem Pjanic, former Manchester United defender, Mikael Silvestre, Sara Gama of Juventus, Inter Milan forward, Romelu Lukaku, France coach Didier Deschamps, and the manager of Athletico Madrid, Diego Simone.

Other expected to present awards are former Italian striker, Fillipo Inzaghi, coach Fabio Capello, and Pierluigi Collina.

Four times world footballer of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo will battle for the Best Men Player of the year with Lionel Messi, van Dijk, and Mohammed Salah.

The Portuguese captain is in the running for his 6th Globe Soccer title, which has been keenly contested between him and his longtime rival Messi.

In the women’s category, the four finalists are Lucy Bronze, Amandine Henry, Alex Morgan, and Megan Rapinoe.

Erik Ten Hag (Ajax), Fernando Santos (Portugal), and Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) will battle for the coach of the year awards.

Other nominees were Manchester midfielder, Bernardo Silva, who won the Premier League and the Nations League with Portugal), Sadio Mané, and Alisson, who occupied the top 7.

The other main categories of the Awards are Best Referee of the Year, Best Women’s Player of the Year, Best Revelation Player, Best Coach of the Year, Best Club of the Year, Best Agent of the Year, Best Sporting Director, Player Career Award, Player Career Award, Best Goalkeeper of the Year, Best Partnership by SportBusiness, Kooora – Best Arab Player Award, and Kooora – Best Arab Club Award.
