Fury vs. Joshua May Happen This December

    September 7, 2022

It looks like boxing fans may be getting the fixture they never asked for but absolutely deserve, as there are signs that Tyson Fury would take on Anthony Joshua this December. The last time we heard from Fury, he said he was willing to challenge Oleksandr Usyk and bring the other heavyweight titles back to Britain after Usyk defeated Joshua for the second time. Usyk called out Fury after the fight, and the British boxer said he would take on Fury for the right fee, but it seems he has other plans.

On Monday, Fury released a video on his social media page, “offering” Joshua the chance to fight for the WBC heavyweight title, after which Joshua can then go on to face Usyk in a unification match. He said: “Anthony Joshua, I know you’ve just lost a fight to Usyk, and you’re bout-less at the moment, and I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.

“If you’re interested, I’ll send you the date over, and we can rumble. A battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.

“Let me know if you’re interested; if not, I will select another opponent.”

He later sent a tweet, calling out Joshua, adding that he had the date and venue already. Joshua then replied, saying he is not the type for online discussions, but he would be ready in December: “Yea, calm,” Joshua posted. “I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if your really about it, shout @258mgt. I’ll be ready in December.”

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, later confirmed that they would be sending an official written offer to Joshua’s camp for a fight that would hold in the UK this November.

If the offer is agreed upon, then we might just be a few months away from the biggest boxing fixture of the year.
