Warriors head coach Steve Kerr backs Steph Curry’s statement of not proving anything to anyone

This year’s NBA All-star match had everything that fans could have asked for, they saw LeBron James and Steph Curry playing together, Damian Lillard and Curry taking turns to score three from mid-court and much more. The Warriors’ talisman was unstoppable as he won the three-point challenge as well.

Curry’s performance at the three-point challenge and also at the All-star was a testament to the fact that he does not need to prove anything to anybody anymore. His coach Steve Kerr also feels the same way about the 32-year-old.

While Team LeBron reigned supreme over Team Durant with a scoreline of 170-150, Curry played a very vital role as he registered 29 points along with 4 rebounds and as many assists. Right after the game the Warriors’ star came out and said, “I have a lot to accomplish. I don’t have anything to prove.”

While there were a few questions over his statement, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr backed the statement of his talisman.

“He’s exactly right,” Steve Kerr stated in a video conference. “Having that sense of comfort in your own skin to know you’ve accomplished so much, you don’t have to prove anything to anybody, and yet you still love the game, you still have a lot to offer, still lots ahead of you, I think that’s probably the most comfortable spot to be in. For Steph, what a great spot to be in. As a result, I think he’s playing at a really high level.”

People made their assumption of Curry not being able to carry the Warriors without his partner in crime Klay Thompson. But despite not being at their best this season the Warriors have done decently and are in the tenth position in the Western Conference. They registered a record of 19-18 in the first half of the tournament and with the entire second half left Kerr’s men will get plenty of opportunities to reach the playoffs this season.

Also, the Warriors will feel confident considering Curry’s excellent scoring form and will look to end their three-game losing streak when they face the high flying Los Angeles Clippers up next. A win against one of the top teams in the West will surely turn their season around.
