Toronto’s Nick Nurse wins 2019-20 NBA Coach of the Year award

    August 24, 2020

The NBA has announced Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse as the NBA Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 season.

The NBA made the announcement on Saturday, making Nurse win the award in just his second season in charge as an NBA coach.

He also won the NBA G League Coach of the year with Iowa Wolves (then Iowa Energy) in 2011, and he is also the first coach to win the coach of the year award in the G League and the NBA.

Nurse had 470 total points with 90 first-place votes from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters, according to the NBA.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks’ Mike Budenholzer, who is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, finished in second while Oklahoma City Thunder’s Billy Donovan ended up third with 147 points and 134 points respectively.

Meanwhile, the voting were based only on the regular season games, which were played till March while the seeding games between July and August were not considered.

Meanwhile, Dallas Mavericks may have doubts about the availability of Superstar Luka Doncic for Game 4 of the series against Los Angeles Clippers after he sprained his ankle in game 3.

However, the Mavericks will be delighted that the injury sustained by the player is not as serious as initially thought after MRI results were revealed. The player would be expected to be fully fit after Sunday’s game for the rest of the series games.

The Clippers won 130-122 in Game 2 of the series.

According to statistics from the NBA, He finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists but had a rough night, shooting just 4 for 14 from the field and 4 for 10 from the foul line.
