The Lakers are going to be in the playoffs this year because of Anthony Davis – Kendrick Perkins

NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has predicted that the upcoming season will be far better for the LA Lakers as compared to their horrid run in the last edition. The Lakers could not even make it to the play-in tournament as they could not come up with a collective effort.

However, Perkins has put his money behind Anthony Davis to come up with a better show. After winning the NBA Championship in 2019-20 with the Lakers, Davis has struggled to keep his injuries at bay.

In fact, in the last two seasons, Davis has played only 76 matches out of it possible 154 games because of his injury woes. Thus, he hasn’t been able to support LeBron James and Co.

But Perkins reckons that Davis is going to have a better season with the Lakers and he is going to be talked about in the same bracket as Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On NBA Today, Perkins said, “The Lakers are going to be in the playoffs this year, and one of the main reasons I’m saying that is because of Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis, this season, is going to remind the world of who the hell he is.

“This is why I have him picked as my MVP front runner right now, MVP winner early prediction, because I believe Anthony Davis is going to show why his name should be mentioned in the conversation with Giannis Antetokounmpo again.”

Davis continued his struggle with injuries in the previous season as he averaged 23.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 40 games in 2021-22.

Davis recently said he wants to play all 82 matches of the regular season. The Lakers will begin its NBA campaign against the Golden State Warriors on the 19th of October.
