That’s about as good as it gets: Steve Kerr on Steph Curry’s 46-point performance against Grizzlies

    December 24, 2021

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry continues to amaze the Basketball world. The team’s head coach Steve Kerr showered praise on the talisman after he dropped 46 points against Memphis Grizzlies, a team well known for its potent defense. Kerr stated that it’s about as good as it can get as Curry continues his magic in the ongoing season of the NBA.

Curry continued his sublime form as he scored 8-of-14 from the three-point line, 13/22 field goals, and 12/12 free throws to come up with another dominating display in the league. Courtesy another piece de resistance from the GSW’s linchpin, the team registered their 26th win of the season as they defeated Memphis Grizzlies by 113-104.

“That’s about as good as it gets against a very physical defense with great size,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said. “Over the last 10-12 games, Memphis had the best defensive rating in the league. For Steph to go out and get 46, he showed every bit of his talent tonight. This was his most efficient game in a couple of weeks, for sure.”

Curry, on the other hand, was delighted with the team’s win against a top team. In fact, the Grizzlies had beaten GSW in the play-in game last season and the linchpin added that it was an important win for his team.

He said, “Definitely wanted this one,” said Curry, who twisted his ankle in the fourth quarter but noted he was OK. “Definitely felt like it was one (we) cant let slip by because of the history but also because knowing what it’s going to take to win a game like this. You carry that chip on your shoulder and understand this is our home court.”

Meanwhile, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins admitted that the Warriors are a tough team to beat.

“We got a ton of good looks in the paint, missed 30 shots, couldn’t get our 3-ball going,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “They’re a hard team to beat. They played really well tonight.

This is the 12th time in this season when Curry has gone past the 30-point mark and he would want to continue his good show. GSW will next face Western Conference leaders Phoenix Suns on Christmas.
