Steph Curry rates win over Phoenix Suns as the best of the season

    December 27, 2021

Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry has rated 116-107 win over Phoenix Suns at Footprint Center on Christmas Day as the best victory of the season for his team. GSW was without the services of Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee Moses Moody, and Jordan Poole as they are in health and safety protocols and had their work cut out against Western Conference leaders Phoenix Suns.

However, once again Stephen Curry brought his best to the table as he dropped 33 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Curry got support from Otto Porter Jr. as he scored 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Courtesy of this fine win, Golden State Warriors now have a 27-6 record, which is the best in the league and they have taken the numero uno position from Phoenix Suns.

“I think, all things considered, yeah,” Curry said on team’s best win of the season. “Nice to win on Christmas, nice to win on the road against the best record in the league, short-handed. All the other context of the situation — a huge win. Everybody stepped up. It was a great atmosphere. Just tough it out at the end, and obviously, Otto [Porter Jr.] took over down the stretch, so that was huge all the way around.”

On the other hand, GSW head coach Steve Kerr heaped praise on his linchpin Steph Curry for getting the best out of himself against a top opposition. Kerr also showered praise on Draymond Green and Kevon Looney.

“Steph was amazing,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Facing that defense with so much attention on him, missing three of our best shooters, for him to see that type of defense and find his way to 33 points — he was a plus-24 — so even when he was not making shots, he was still impacting the game just by pulling the defense over towards him. Steph was brilliant, so was Draymond [Green]. I thought [Kevon] Looney did a hell of a job, as well, so it was a great team win.”

Meanwhile, Curry was all praise for Otto Porter Jr. and added that the 28-year old has worked hard on his game since he has joined the team.

”Of course,” Curry said. “Don’t disrespect him like that. That man can shoot the ball; I know he’s been through a lot of injuries and all that, but he’s been working his butt off since he got here this summer. And you could tell he does look confident — confident and composed with what he was trying to do, getting to his spots and knocking them down, so it’s big.”

Golden State Warriors will next face Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
