Shaquille O’Neal upset with media not speaking enough about Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant despite his exceptional performances

The MVP conversations have started among analysts and mos tof them are revolving around the top 3-4 players on the ladder. But recently former NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal mad ea point of having more players in the conversation who are doing it for their franchises for the last couple of years and one such name has to be of Ja Morant who has been sensaitonal for the Memphis Grizzlies and the way he has been leading the team full of young pieces is simply brilliant. They are a young exciting team with a great young leader.

Shaq believe sthat the Grizzlies talisman should have more limelight in MVP conversations alongside the Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic or even Jayson Tatum. While Shaq understands that Ja Morant is not the best player in the league right now but he is gradually getting there and feels that there is some sense of disrespect from the media to not highlight him at all.

“I’m upset. When all you experts are talking about MVPs, you don’t say Ja Morant’s name enough… The kid can flat out play…”

The Big Diesel believes that Ja has that ‘it’ factor in him and has some shades of modern Allen Iverson. Shaq believes that Ja will be at the top in two or three years as he can see that attitude, work rate and that commitment.

“I love Ja Morant. I want to give him props. He’s the new age, the new day, Allen Iverson. He’s not the best player in the world now. I’m not saying that disrespectfully, but in two to three years, he will be the best player in the world,” Shaq added.

“He lets veterans know, he’s coming. He plays with reckless abandonment, loves to talk trash, doesn’t care. He can shoot the three, loves to put on a show for the fans,” he continued, adding traits of Ja that he likes very much.

Ja Morant has been in sensational form as his Grizzlies are also on a roll with a 10 game winning streak. Overall this season he is averaging 27.5 points per game, 7.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds and has flown under the radar with too many exceptional MVP worthy performances from others.

He is guiding his team very well as they are second in the Western Conference only behind the Denver Nuggets and overall he has improved in various aspects this season. MVP or not, Morant’s main concern will be to focus on the last stretch of the regular season and then to the playoffs as they can surely contend for the title this time with the talent they have across the field.
