Shaquille O’Neal admits that Warriors star Stephen Curry has changed the overall perspective of the game

After losing against the upbeat Washington Wizards, the Golden State Warriors are back on track with two solid wins over the Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings. Having won seven matches of their last 10 games the Warriors have confirmed a play-in spot. However, that is secondary as they have the man of the hour in the NBA in Stephen Curry who has been on fire for them throughout the season.

The point guard who is considered as the greatest shooter of all-time in the NBA is having a great time this season and it is a great advertisement for the league. Even young players who aim to play in the NBA in future are getting influenced by the style of the play of the Chef. He opened up a different dimension in this beautiful sport and has created an everlasting impact on the sport which even NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t deny.

Shaq recently in an interview with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson spoke about several facts that he has noticed over the period. He highlighted how Curry has changed the perspective of the game impacting the future draft picks and also how people will see the sport in future.

“Steph Curry is messing the game up… I see a bunch of little kids dribbling, shooting 100 footers… He’s doing something for them, he has given them a chance… Steph is probably the most influential player when it comes to little people, right? Coz I see a lot of little guards, like little kids… they’re doing stuff I can’t even do, and it’s good,” said the former Lakers star.

However, the 15-time NBA All-Star also revealed that he was not a Curry fan right from the beginning. “I used to hate him, early on in his career… But he proved me wrong, that’s why he’s my best player. I like being proved wrong. So my message to these young kids when I say something, prove me wrong,” he went on adding.

The Warriors have been highly dependent on their talisman, Curry as they have been majorly shorthanded for most of the season. But still, they are fighting for a playoff spot and are currently in a play-in position speaks volumes about Steve Kerr and his team’s fighting spirit.

Curry’s brilliance is beyond words the point guard has dropped 85 three-pointers in April and is currently shooting threes at 42.7% and converting a career-high 5.2 threes per game. He is averaging 31.3 points per game and he is doing all this at the age of 33 is simply sensational. His current form has forced people to bring him in MVP conversations. However for now his primary role will be to help the Warriors win most of the remaining matches with the hope of getting a better rank going into the postseason.
