Portland Trail Blazers player Damian Lillard has tipped Nikola Jokic as the best player in the league on his current form. Jokic has been in prolific form in the recent past as he has been playing at the top of his game. The Serbian played a key role in clean sweeping Los Angeles Lakers by 4-0 in the Western Conference finals.
Lillard picked Nikola Jokic as the best player in the league on his Instagram Live session. The Serb was awarded MVP in the last two seasons as he has been doing a fine job for the Nuggets.
Jokic has been averaging 29.9 in the 15 matches of the ongoing postseason. The 28-year-old from Sombhor was averaging 24.5 in 69 games he played in the regular season of 2022-23.
Damian Lillard feels Jokic has an all-round game and hailed him for being a team player.
“Joker might be the best player in the league,” Lillard said. “Smart as hell, he can shoot, he passes, he plays team ball, he cares about winning, he humble, he stays true. I like how Joker does his thing.”
There is no doubt that Nikola Jokic will hold the key for the Nuggets in the all-important finals.
Meanwhile, Denver Nuggets are waiting for either Miami Heat or Boston Celtics in the NBA finals, which will begin on June 2. The Heat had taken a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals but the Celtics made a resounding comeback to level the series 3-3.
If the Celtics win the final game of the series, which will be played on Monday night, they will become the first NBA team to come back from the 0-3 deficit in the NBA playoffs.
