NBA Finals: It was definitely an attitude adjustment – Draymond Green after Game 2 win against Boston Celtics

    June 7, 2022

Golden State Warriors bounced back as they won Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics at Chase Center, San Francisco on Sunday night. The Dubs won by 107-88 to level the series 1-1. The team’s talisman Draymond Green said it was definitely an attitude adjustment after they bounced back stronger.

Steph Curry was once again the star of the show as he top-scored with 29 points whereas Jordan Poole scored 17 points. Golden State Warriors dominated the third quarter as they outscored the opponents 35-14. In fact, Curry and Poole collectively scored 20 points in the third quarter of play.

“It was definitely an attitude adjustment,” Green said as quoted by ESPN. “They are who we thought they were. So we knew we had to keep our foot on the gas pedal and not let up, and we did that.”

“We put ourselves right back in position to take control of the series,” said Green, who finished with nine points, seven assists and five rebounds. “Now we haven’t taken control of it yet. But we have put ourselves in position to go and take control of it.”

The team’s head coach Steve Kerr was delighted with the performance of the team and feels they were more engaged in Game 2 as compared to Game 1, which they had lost.

“I thought everybody was more engaged,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said following Sunday’s contest. “It was pretty obvious, just our level of force and physicality was ramped up quite a bit, and it had to be.”

Steph Curry scored 14 points in the third quarter as he was at his absolute best. In fact, the Warriors were leading by 52-50 after the half-time but the third quarter was the match-changing phase for the home team.

“Steph was breathtaking in that quarter,” Kerr said. “Not just the shot-making but the defensive effort.”

The third game of the NBA Finals will be played on Wednesday.
