It means the world – Jayson Tatum after scoring 55 points in All-Star game

    February 22, 2023

Jayson Tatum created history as he scored an All-Star record of 55 points as Team Giannis defeated Team LeBron by 184-175 on Sunday. Tatum was delighted after a fine show and said it means the world to him as the top players of the league have been part of this big game over the years.

In fact, both Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James had to leave the court after early injuries. However, Tatum was at his absolute best as he broke Anthony Davis’ record of 52 points in the 2017 All-Star game.

“It means the world,” Tatum said as quoted by AFP. “You think of all the legends and great players that have played this game.

“Records are made to be broken so I’ll hold it for as long as I can but I’m certain somebody will come along in a couple years and try to break it.”

Tatum made 22-of-31 shots from the floor, 10-of-18 from 3-point range. Furthermore, he added 10 rebounds, six assists, a steal and a blocked shot to have an all-round game as he ticked all the right boxes.

In fact, Tatum was in beast mode in the third quarter as he added 27 points. Tatum added he was able to gain confidence after he made early shots.

“You see the first three go in and keep shooting, just stay hot and just keep running,” Tatum said.

On the other hand, Milwaukee Bucks big man Giannis Antetokounmpo was delighted after his team’s win and said he loves competing at the big stage.

“It’s just hard. I love competing,” Antetokounmpo said. “I wasn’t able to participate in the full thing but I wanted to go out there even for 10 seconds, sweat a little bit in the jersey, because I want to be part of this.”
