I have a lot of confidence we can come back in this series – Steph Curry after winning fifth game against Los Angeles Lakers

    May 12, 2023

The defending champions Golden State Warriors had their backs against the wall as they were trailing by 3-1 against Los Angeles Lakers in the ongoing Western Conference semifinals. However, the Dubs made a resounding comeback in the fifth game of the series, winning by 121-106 on Wednesday night to take the series into the sixth game and avoid elimination.

The team’s talisman Steph Curry expressed confidence that they can still make a comeback in the series and qualify for the Western Conference finals.

Curry top-scored 27 points on 12-24 shooting as he once again delivered the goods for his team. The linchpin was delighted with the defensive game of his side.

“Our defensive mindfulness was there,” Curry said as quoted by AP. “I have a lot of confidence we can come back in this series,” Curry said. “And until otherwise, we stay in that kind of mindset.”

Furthermore, Andrew Wiggins added 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists for the Warriors. Moreover, Draymond Green contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds and he admitted there is pressure when they step on the court as they are the reigning champions.

“We’re champions, so there’s pressure every time you step on the floor,” Green said. “You go out there, you don’t win people are ready to crush you. People forget about the things that you’ve done in the past.”

On the other hand, James top-scored with 25 points and nine rebounds for the Los Angeles. Davis added 23 points and nine rebounds before he suffered a blow to his head. The team’s head coach Darvin Ham confirmed that Davis’ injury is not severe.

“Obviously, everyone saw he took a shot to the head, but we just checked in on him, he seems to be doing really good already,” Ham said. “That’s just where he’s at. That’s the status of it right now.”

James said that Game 6 will be an opportunity for the Lakers to show grit and resilience. The sixth game of the series between these two teams will be played on Friday night.
